WatchMate the Most Robust System in Harsh Enviroments

The WatchMate successfully resisted in the harsh Berign Strait. The buoy was supplied by Axys Tecnologies to University of Victoria, for a project in collaboration with the US EPA and NOAA. From July 2011 to october the buoy provided a very high data return rate (99%) and survived 9m waves and 40 knot wind. The WatchMate proves, once again, its reliability and robustness again the adverse conditions.

The buoy was equiped with the following sensors: Triaxys wave, air temperature, wind and water temperature. Data was collected by WatchMan500 and sent hourly via Iridium telemetry. Inverse catenary mooring was provided to anchor the system at the deployment site.

SIDMAR represents in Spain Axys Technologies, providing the latest advances in buoys and remote telemetry systems, maintance and technical support. Most of our clients have chosen the WatchMate due its durability, variety of sensors and telemetry options.
