WatchMate Ocean-Meteo Buoy on the Catalonian Coast

SIDMAR has supplied a WatchMate buoy by the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research , as part of IREC observation and monitoring efforts on coast. The buoy, which will be deployed beginning November, counts with the most advanced sensors in order to provide accurate and reliable data of meteo and ocean conditions. The array of sensor includes WindSonic (Gill) to measure wind speed and direction, Triaxys (Axys) directional wave and current profiler ADP-500 KHz (SonTek); also, magnetic compass and INMARSAT D+. Data will be collected, controlled and processed with the WatchMan500 and Data Management System, and transmitted throught radio and Iridium satellite.
