Long and directional wind wave monitoring at A Coruņa

On April 2011 SIDMAR started a one year project monitoring long waves and directional wind waves at Langosteira harbor (N of Spain).

Up to seven station has been deployed: three RBR pressure sensors, compensated for barometric pressure, model TWR-2050 HT located within the protected harbor area that measures on continuous mode (24h/365days) at 1Hz; one RBR pressure sensor model TWR-2050 located outside the protected area at 30m depth also measuring continuously at 1Hz; one directional Triaxys buoy deployed in front of the nearby cliff measuring burst of 24minutes at 4Hz every hour; one SonTek ADP 1500KHz measuring averaged profile current and PUV burst of 24min long at 1Hz every hour.
All stations save the data on a backup memory and send it, by GPRS/RADIO LINK/Iridium, on real time to SIDMAR main office were daily QA/QC is done.

Additionally, SIDMAR offer expert assessment and data processing, that includes wavelet analysis for long wave event detection and estimation of short wave reflexion and wave agitation.
